Apply for a Camp Scholarship
Type 1s of the North wants to help send 3 adults living with Type 1 to an inspiring, educational and empowering week-long or weekend camp. Bulkley Valley applicants may be prioritized since the $ was raised there, but we encourage ALL interested applicants to please apply!
We are offering:
- 1x 80% scholarship to DIABETES TRAINING CAMP (DTC) (max value CAN$3000)
- 2x 100% scholarships to CONNECTED IN MOTION (CIM) (max value CAN$500 each)
Both of these camps have been significant and life-changing for the local Type 1s who have attended. So we want YOU to have the chance to experience something similar.
- Adult age 18+
- Living with Insulin-Dependent Type 1 Diabetes
- Bulkley Valley resident preferred but not mandatory (Houston, Telkwa, Smithers, Witset, Hazelton or let us know what your connection is to this area).
A massive “Thank You” goes out to the Bulkley Valley fundraisers who made this possible! In Smithers, BC, a group of volunteers in the Type 1 community — led by parents Joanne and Matt Sear — raised this $ by volunteering at McBike’s Annual Mothers Day Run. Jill & Peter Krause of McBike generously donated the registration fees to Bulkley Valley Diabetes groups –Type 1s of the North and the Smithers Diabetes Group.
